A personal bucket-list item: My first full-page children’s book review in the New York Times Book Review section. I LOVE the editor, Julie Just…so of course she’s quitting to go be an agent. WHAT ABOUT MY NEEDS, JULIE JUST.

And in a completely non-shocking development, I discovered just how many people read the Styles section compared to the Book Review. I was quoted in the middle of a piece in yesterday’s Styles about annoying email signoffs. I got a gazillion happy excited emails about it…and maybe three about the piece I actually WROTE. (At least until I posted on Facebook ordering everyone to read the book review.) Granted, my friends and family are philistines, but still.

Loved loved your review. C is on the cusp of the YA demographic and I’m excited to share some of the fairytale-inspired YA with her.

Loved this review. I want every single book mentioned, and I don’t even have children.

I remember reading the original Grimm stories as a little girl – I’m still terrified by The Red Shoes.

That is a terrific review and I know what book I’m buying. Mazel Tov!
