We watch a ton of Top Chef and Project Runway at our house. Some people think it’s funny that I don’t let the kids watch any tween TV (except Phineas & Ferb, which is a subject for another post) yet I’ll let them watch reality shows that involve some execrable behavior and colorful melon-farming language. This week in Tablet magazine, I wrote about why…and give examples of some of the moral lessons I think these shows convey. Seriously, these shows are a great, non-didactic way for us parents to talk about the values that matter to us.
