		<description>marjorie, this is a really thoughtful post on what is truly an ugly issue. as a former teacher and current mama it&#039;s just plain old hard to think about. but so, so necessary. 

thank you for the book suggestion, i am looking forward to reading it and sharing it with my children. 

and thank you also for the honest take: we *have* to change our approach in schools. kids spend so much of their time there and what a difference to would make to send a unified, educated message.</description>
